Aluminium Bluewater Cutter with Lifting Centreboard. A Truly Go-Anywhere Cruiser!
EU VAT Paid
Built by Allures Yachting to a design from Berret-Racoupeau with styling by Franck Darnet, the Allures 40 pairs an insulated aluminium hull with a composite deck to create a genuine go-anywhere cruiser in a manageable 40-foot package. The lifting centreboard allows draught to range from around one metre, to over two and a half metres, opening up shallow anchorages and drying out options that a fixed keel yacht simply cannot match. This particular example features a two-cabin version with a dedicated technical room and separate shower. She is for sale from her second owner, having been kept in private use only.
This Allures 40 is a cutter-rigged aluminium centre boarder built for serious offshore work without sacrificing comfort at anchor. She benefits from teak decks on the cockpit and swim platform, a generous cockpit table, and a well-proven Volvo Penta D2-55 with Saildrive.
The owners have listed her for sale at a price reflecting that some areas are due for renewal, offering a new owner scope to specify these to their own cruising plans while inheriting a structurally sound and well-equipped platform underneath.
Key Features:
- Insulated solid aluminium hull with lifting keel and twin fibreglass Jefa rudders for direct control
- Composite cockpit and mid-deck with teak flooring in cockpit and swim platform
- Two-cabin layout with technical room and separate shower head
- Volvo Penta D2-55 C with Saildrive, 2,947 hours (Sept. 2026)
- Sparcraft performance mast and boom with full-batten mainsail track
- Solent, staysail and jennaker furling headsails plus symmetric spinnaker
- 360W solar array, Aerogen 6 wind turbine, and Victron inverter/charger

Broker Comments:
The Allures 40 has built a strong reputation among aluminium cruising yachts as an accessible entry point into serious voyaging; Allures positioned the 40 as an approachable way into go-anywhere aluminium cruising. The lifting keel and twin-rudder configuration give her the shoal-draught versatility bluewater sailors look for, while the aluminium construction removes the osmosis and structural concerns that come with an older GRP hull of this vintage.
The presentation is honest rather than showroom-polished: the battery pack, some sails, rigging and parts of the electronics are ready for renewal, and this is sensibly reflected in the asking price, giving the next owner room to refit to their own specification rather than paying a premium for someone else's choices. For a buyer planning an Atlantic crossing, high latitude cruising, or simply wants a boat capable of tucking into anchorages a deep keeled 40-footer can't reach, this is a purchase opportunity with clear upside.
